How does the Festival fund its operations?
The Festival's funding comes from a mix of ticket sales, corporate sponsorship, personal donations, fund raising events and public sector support. With a budget of over $400,000 the Festival’ continual goal is to increase the percentage of revenue coming from ticket sales and to reinvest surplus funds in educational or artistic endeavours.
What is the relationship between the Huntsville Festival and the Algonquin Theatre?
The Festival is a tenant of the theatre, renting it for its performances as required. As the major renter of the facility the Festival has a strong relationship with the theatre, which is owned and operated by the Town, and has worked toward combining advertising, marketing, and operating costs wherever possible. The Festival has also donated equipment to the theatre as resources have allowed.
Can I purchase tickets from the Festival and the Algonquin Theatre?
On line ticket purchase is available through the Festival web site. Once you have decided on a performance you indicate your desire to purchase and you are passed seamlessly to the Algonquin Theatre site for seat selection and payment options. Alternatively, you can buy directly through the Algonquin Theatre site at www.algonquintheatre.ca . Ticket availability is the same either way. Phone orders are directed to the Theatre Box Office at 705-789-4975.
How long are the performances?
Normally the shows presented feature two 45-50 minute halves with a 20-minute intermission, resulting in a total concert time of between two and two and a half hours.
How are prices set?
Festival ticket pricing is normally related to the cost of the artist and the size of the hall. The Algonquin Theatre offers a useable seating capacity of approximately 400. As artist costs increase ticket pricing will likely also increase. In most cases ticket costs are below pricing for similar performers at venues in the larger urban markets.
How can I support the Festival?
Personal donations are welcomed by the Festival and can be initiated through this web site. They are fully tax receiptable and at certain levels have an added benefit of receiving complimentary tickets. Individuals and businesses that wish to sponsor specific shows can contact the Festival office for more information and a list of sponsorship benefits.
The simplest and most direct way to support the Festival is to purchase tickets and come out and enjoy the various programs that are presented.
